Safety of Pastoralist Settlement and Rescue Community Based Organization (SOPSAR CBO) works with pastoralist communities and other stakeholders to promote peace, safety, rescue, sustainable development and community resilience across Turkana County.
About SOPSAR
SOPSAR CBO was founded by pastoralist community members and registered on 11 March 2020, beginning with 14 members. It has since grown to more than 103 registered members in Lokichoggio Sub-County.
The organization works to address the challenges affecting pastoralist communities and other vulnerable populations — from insecurity and conflict to drought, water scarcity, limited access to education and emergencies in remote areas.
